Dec 06, 2017, Islamabad - Programme for Poverty Reduction (PPR) conducted second steering committee meeting on Dec 06, 2017. The meeting was attended by Dr. Santa Mole- Director AICS, Ms. Simi Kamal-SGH-Grants, PPAF, Ms. Lubna Javaid- PD- PPR, CEOs and program coordinators of PPR partners including PPR team. The main objective of the meeting was to review the actions proposed in last steering committee meeting being held on July 04, 2017.
Dr. Santa Mole appreciated the idea of conducting the steering committee meeting. She further emphasized to bring young people in implementation activities as they could bring a huge change. Ms. Simi Kamal appreciated the PPR progress and shared that partners should focus on women participation in PPR interventions. Provincial committees of KP/FATA and Balochistan shared their progress. Furthermore, merits and demerits on registration and opening of bank accounts of community institutions were presented by the participants. Different partners shared the innovative ideas being implemented in PPR areas. For effective women participation, detailed strategy was presented by Khwendho Khor. Status of ODF free villages in District Lasbela was also shared by BRAC and NRSP. Way forward was discussed with the partners in the line of findings by World Bank implementation support mission of PPR. Furthermore, the timelines were developed with the partners for its effective implementation in field.
